Success Stories
Vena Massengale came to The Waters from Henry County Hospital with respiratory failure on February 10, 2010. Vena stated that due to the patience and great work of the nurses, aides and therapists she is ready to go home and resume her daily routine.
She is extremely grateful to all the staff and therapists at The Waters and would recommend them to anyone needing rehabilitation.
Jane Campbell is a very active and social resident of a local assisted living facility who had an unfortunate fall and broke her left hip. Repair of the break required surgery. After a few days in the hospital, she was transferred toTthe Waters for Physical and Occupational Therapy. When she began therapy she was only able to ambulate 20-30 feet and required assistance with her bathing and dressing.
After receiving therapy 5 to 6 days a week, she was discharged back to the assisted living facility in less than 8 weeks. She had the ability to ambulate 300 feet or more with her rollator walker and was independent with her bathing and dressing.
While in the facility, she enjoyed playing bingo, and other games, attending coffee club and the birthday party.
Jane is an example of how participating in The Waters of New Castle’s Therapy Program following a surgery is very effective in acceleration of the recovery process for the patient.
